We're traveling from the Washington State border and eating our way through Idaho, from Lewiston to Boise, and Ketchum to Eden.

I've heard they have some pretty good eats, and I'm a huge foodie. I haven't visited Idaho before, but I've been pretty curious about going there on a road trip.

Boise is a sure bet to find some great eats in Idaho, but there are other hidden gem places to chow down on iconic foods, too. Stay to the end to see a recipe for the iconic Idaho Finger Steaks!

Tons of Washington residents love to visit Idaho, ranging from taking in the amazing views in the lakes of Coeur d'Alene to cabins near Boise, and tiny town visits to Twin Falls and Sun Valley.

THE IDAHO ACCENT

What does an Idaho accent sound like? For the most part, they sound just like we do in Washington, with some notable exceptions, according to Reddit.

GOOD FOOD IN IDAHO IS MORE THAN JUST EATING POTATOES

Okay, we get it, Idaho is mostly known for growing potatoes, but there's so much more to the local cuisine than good ol' root vegetables!

Tater Tots may reign supreme among some Idaho locals, but the state produces a heckuva lot of sweet corn, cheese, wheat and alfalfa hay.  

FUN FACT: Did you know the official state fruit of Idaho is the Huckleberry? I didn't either!

  Two of Idaho's top 10 exports include live cattle and prepped frozen potatoes. I've heard a rumor that most of the French fries sold at McDonalds come from Idaho potato farms.

That being said, several of the top iconic Idaho dishes we have to try at least once include one potato dish and three that are made with gamey meats, plus treats!
