The Chelan Douglas Port Authority was asked to organize a feasibility study on a sports complex after interest sprang from local governments.

So far, there's a verbal commitment to fund a feasibility study on the Sports Complex from all the parties involved.

The money coming through the Federal Aviation Administration required that projects already be underway, and the General Aviation building is still in the planning stages.

The Small Community Air Service Development Grant has been in place for that purpose since 2017 and is about to expire next month.

The closure shuts off the airport's only daily commercial flight to Seattle on Horizon Air.
