Regional Sports Complex

The steering committee overseeing a feasibility study of the sports complex was given a presentation by consulting company BerryDunn this week.

The state operating and capital budgets were approved by lawmakers in the last days of this year's legislative session last week.

The findings show a need for more outdoor sports fields as well as an indoor aquatic center and indoor sports facilities.

The community will have a chance to share their thoughts on their proposed Regional Sports Complex project, which is geared towards providing an indoor space for recreational sports and spur economic development in the valley.

The Steering Committee for a proposed regional sports complex within the Wenatchee Valley met with their consulting firm for the first time on May 5.

So far, there's a verbal commitment to fund a feasibility study on the Sports Complex from all the parties involved.

It launched its process of interviewing for the job Monday with plans to have it filled quickly, and have a person on the job by the end of February.
